Local History Photos & Newspaper: August 9, 2024

Hi everyone, here, belatedly is our Local History & Newspaper post for last Friday, August 9, 2024.

With the state of emergency declared in Steuben County last Friday which kept me at home, and the library being closed again this past Monday due to multiple staff being ill – I am a bit behind in my blog postings – an unexpected day and half of closings will do that!

So here is the blog posting that should have been up last Friday, August 9.

And our weekly blog posting will be out tomorrow, Friday, August 16.

Local History & Newspaper blog posts are published on Fridays; and the next post will be up on Friday, August 23, 2024.

Library Local History/Creation Station Resources:
At the library you can scan your photos and slides to create digital family albums and slideshows; and even use one of the Circut machines, and other Creation Station equipment, to help you create a special paper family history album.

Also of note, we have local papers including the Corning Leader, Corning Evening Leader, Corning Journal and Corning Daily Journal, on microfilm from 1840 to the present — so you can visit the library and research local history and your family tree if you wish!
