Creation Station is our makerspace in the library. Come in and make something incredible. Makerspace projects that will be available to be created at the Southeast Steuben County Library include:
• 3 D Printer created projects*
• Computer created projects
• Sewing projects*
• Scanning projects (slides, photos & documents)
• Art projects*
• Scrapbooking projects*
• Drawing
All Patrons interested in using the Creation Station will be required to receive training before using the space. Projects that require training are only accessible upon staff availability. *Some projects will require a small fee for materials. Programs are made possible by the Friends of the Library.
Coffee, Tea & English

This is an informal, relaxed time to practice every day English conversation, share cultures and make new friendships.
Special programs or guests will also be scheduled from time to time.

In the 21st Century a public library offers more than onsite access to books, DVDs and the Internet. Today public libraries offer patrons access to digital books, audiobooks, videos and magazines 24/7 via computers, tablets and smartphones. This program will offer an overview of the digital library materials SSCL patrons can checkout from wherever they are 24/7/365! Refreshments will be served.

Corning Area Writer’s Group
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Dec 10, 2015
Inject some socialization into your solo writing time by join the library’s Adult Creative Writers Group for conversation, inspiration and feedback on writing projects. No sign up is required. This group meets every Thursday from 6-8 pm. On the third Thursday of the month the group meets in the library. Quarterly Crafting: Crafts for Christmas
4:00 – 6:00 PM Dec 12, 2015
Featured crafts will be paper beads for gift giving Mini Christmas Trees for decorating. Feel free to bring something you are working on or choose from materials set out. Senior Tech: Introduction to Tablets, E-Readers & Streaming Video Players: This program will offer a history of the evolution of tablets, e-readers & streaming video players and will offer tips on just how you can use these devices to enrich your daily life! There will be tablets, e-readers and streaming video players to try out! Join us! Refreshments will be served.

NaNoWriMo Write In: Get your 50,000 words in this month. Bring a laptop or notebook and pen. Prizes and refreshments provided.

Time: 3:00 p. m. – 6:00 p. m.

Available Throughout The Week: One-On-One Personal Technology Appointments:You can make an appointment with a member of the Library’s Digital Literacy Services staff as an individual or for 2-4 people to learn how to use a new computer, Mac, e-reader, tablet, smartphone, email, The Internet or a variety of software including the Microsoft Office Suite & Skype at a variety of times throughout each month.
