Here are the programs of particular interest to adults at the library this week. We hope to see you there!

Makerspace Hours
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM  Nov 16, 2015

Creation Station is our makerspace in the library. Come in and make something incredible. Makerspace projects that will be available to be created at the Southeast Steuben County Library include:
•    3 D Printer created projects*
•    Computer created projects
•    Sewing projects*
•    Scanning
•    Art projects*
•    Scrapbooking projects*
•    Drawing

All Patrons interested in using the Creation Station will be required to receive training before using the space.  Projects that require training are only accessible upon staff availability. *Some projects will require a small fee for materials. Programs are made possible by the Friends of the Library.

Coffee, Tea & English- Thanksgiving Party
10:00 AM – 11:30 AM  Nov 17, 2015
Bring a dish to pass and we will have a fun time learning about international foods! Happy Thanksgiving. This is an informal, relaxed time to practice every day English conversation, share cultures and make new friendships. Special programs or guests will also be scheduled from time to time. Spin a Yarn!

Bring in a knitting or crochet project you are working on, get instructions or help or use club materials to make something for a greater good. For more details, call (607)936-3713. All skill levels welcome.

Corning Area Writer’s Group

Inject some socialization into your solo writing time by join the library’s Adult Creative Writers Group for conversation, inspiration and feedback on writing projects. No sign up is required. This group meets every Thursday from 6-8 pm. On the third Thursday of the month the group meets in the library. Join hostess Jenn for a program based upon recipes and DIY projects found on the fun social networking/personal interest website – Pinterest!  Create a fabulous recipe and chose from a selection of great gift ideas for the upcoming Holidays to take with you!

Free Friday Films: Enough Said

Enough Said (2013) Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, James Gandolfini, 93 min. PG-13. Free Friday Films is held the first and third Friday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Laura Beer Community Room. Enjoy films on our big screen. Refreshments offered. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.

Book Talk: Tin Can Treason: Join us for a book talk and signing with the author of Tin Can Treason: Recollections from a combat tour of Vietnam by Terry Nardone.

Thursday, October 15, 2015:

Intermediate iPad Workshop: Our Intermediate iPad Workshop takes attendees on a tour of some of the more advanced features of the iPad. We will go over Siri settings, keyboard layout options, renaming your iPad, enabling & using Bluetooth devices, how to make phone calls from your iPad, how to use AirPlay (in conjunction with an Apple TV box) to stream music and videos from your iPad to your TV and more.

Time: 10 – 11:30 a.m.

Friday, October 16, 2015:

Friday Night Free Film: Leviathan (2014): In a small coastal town in Russia lives an ordinary family: Kolya (Aleksey Serebryakov), his wife Lilya, and their teenage son Roma. The family is haunted by a local corrupt mayor who is trying to take away Kolya’s business, house, and precious land. Kolya calls in an old friend, now an authoritative attorney, for help.
