Local History Photo 1: Wedding Photo (1889)

Our first photo for this week shows to people for whom we actually have a name! And that is rare with the few photos in our local history archive that spotlight people. The photo shows Fred & Ella Gridley on their wedding day in 1889. The couple were married in Caton, N.Y.

Local History Photo 2: Art Club (Corning, New York)

Our second photo for this week shows the Corning Free Academy Art Club sometime in the mid-twentieth century.

Local History Photo 3: Northside High School Class Reunion (1953)

And our third photo for this week shows attendees of the Northside High School graduating class of 1923, on the occasion of their thirtieth class reunion in 1953.

Local History Photo 1: A Parade

Our first photo for this week shows a parade in progression on Market Street in Corning at some unknown time in the past.

Local History Photo 2: New York Central and Hudson River Railroad Yards (1907)

Our second photo for this week is of a postcard showing the old New York Central and Hudson River Railroad Yards which if you look closely you can see were once located approximately where Wegmans, on Bridge Street, is located in Corning today – what a different landscape in 1907!

Local History Photo 3: Y.M.C.A. Building (circa 1913-1919)

And our final photo for this week shows the old Y.M.C.A. building in Corning in the teens of the Twentieth Century.
