Local History Photos of the Week May 24, 2019

Hi everyone, here are the Local History Photos of the Week!

(Click on the photos for a larger view!)

I’m working on fine tuning my WordPress skills!

I’ve discovered how to insert photo galleries so you can easily browse a collection of photos. However, I’m having a challenging time figuring out how to place the galleries where I want them within a post — those challenging galleries just want to hang out at the bottom of the page!

So for this week we’ll let the photos hang out at the bottom of the page…

The first gallery of photos seen below show un-named World War I era soliders from the Corning area. If you know who any of those soldiers were, please let us know.

The second gallery seen below features photos taken from the 1948 Corning Free Academy Stator year book. The photos show the senior class and a few extra fun photos.

Have a great weekend!

  1. June 8, 2019 will mark the 60th Reunion of the CFA Class of 1959. Hope you might be able to highlight this story – with appropriate photos.

Thanks for all you do to remind us of past and present glorious days in Corning!

    • Hi, thanks for the kinds words and the information!

I will enthusastically put together a posting for this week highlighting the C.F.A. Class of 1959! We have a copy of the ’59 Stator and I’ll create the posting with photos from the yearbook.

The posting will be up Friday afternoon.

Thanks for letting me know the reunion is coming up so I can spotlight the class in my weekly posting.

Have a great week and enjoy your reunion!
