Local History Photos Of The Week October 1, 2016

Happy Saturday morning everyone!

Here are two local history photos for your weekend perusal!

Local History Photo 1:

This one appears to be a parade and by the hats the men are wearing I’d guess this photo was taken in the early 20th Century — perhaps on First Street in Corning? We have no information on the photo itself — so it is a mystery!

Our second photo for this week does have a written records which notes:

“Parade: Drill team competition on C.F.A. Campus.”

This photo too looks like it might have been taken early in the 30th Century – and I wonder if the men in uniform were drilling as part of a training to become fireman?

And those are our local history photos of the week!

Use one of the library’s scanners to digitalize your family photos or slides

Use library equipment to create digital copies of your family narrations on audio cassettes

Use library cameras and a green screen to create fun photos for your family albums

Use the library’s Cricut machine to create a custom photo album

And more!

Have a great weekend!
